What is full truckload (TL)?

Truckload and less than truckload are both excellent options, but what are they? The transport of freight that does not require the entire space of a truck is also known as less than truckload (LTL) shipping, whereas full truckload (TL) shipments take up the space or weight limit of an entire trailer. Depending on your specific freight requirements, one option is likely better suited than the other.

Van

A simple, enclosed trailer that carries general cargo that does not require refrigeration. Usually loaded through the rear doors.

Refrigerated/Reefer

A climate controlled trailer used to carry items such as food and medical supplies.

Flatbed

A trailer with no enclosure. Can be loaded from the sides or above.

Intermodal

A single trailer or container that travels via multiple forms of transportation along its route, such as truck/ship/rail.

Time Sensitive

Expedited delivery of the transported goods.

High Value

High value items that are transported in an enclosed, secure truck.

Heavy Haul

Equipment that or load that exceeds the per-axle limits, but not the overal weight limits.

Haz-Mat

Material that is dangerous/sensitive that needs to be handled with care.
